This gold amulet tube, containing a hand-inscribed sacred scroll and a Luk Sakot (power-focusing core), is far more than just a talisman. it is a symbol of status, devotion, and masterful craftsmanship rooted deeply in the traditions of the Thai royal court.
During the Ayutthaya and early Rattanakosin periods, royal amulets (Takrud Luang) were specially crafted as personal protective charms or insignia of high rank. The casing of such amulets was sometimes made from gold or precious metals and adorned with exquisite Thai motifs, repoussé carvings, or real gemstones  in the same style as royal regalia, such as sword hilts and scabbards.
These works belonged to the domain of the "Chang Sip Mue"  the Ten Royal Crafts  and were created using techniques similar to those used in constructing sacred relic shrines. These included gold wire inlay, repoussé embossing, enamel work, gemstone claw settings, and hand-applied granulation (known as “golden fish eggs” or “khai pla”). Such amulet tubes were never common among villagers; they were reserved for the elite, reflecting both social standing and deep-rooted faith in sacred power.

Inside the tube is a rolled gold sheet inscribed with a yantra, hand-etched by a monk or ancient script master. The traces of the characters remain visibly clear  the etching is not just a ritual, but a conveyance of sacred intention, channeled through the iron stylus with spiritual precision.

Also contained within is a golden Luk Sakot, which in Buddhist esoteric belief is considered a living elemental core used to “anchor energy” or “direct the flow of power” within the amulet. This core is often formed from pure gold and meticulously placed alongside the sacred scroll.

This piece, therefore, is not merely an antique   it is a legacy of artistry and spirit, intertwining masterful technique, faith, and a profound understanding of Buddhist mystical tradition into one sacred whole.
